[Currently interning at IDEO, Palo Alto]
EDUCATION
- Liceo Artistico (Art High School), Venice
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial Design (Graphic and Product Design) at IUAV University of Venice
- Currently: IUAV’s graduate degree in Visual and Multimedia Design, specialising in Interaction Design. I am finishing my second (final) year and start my thesis project in September 2010.
EXPERIENCE
- My strengths are in generating ideas, developing concepts and scenarios, problem analysis and graphic. I am good at organizing team work and presentation. I also like doing prototypes, hand-crafted using different materials, to have physical feedback of what the user’s experience could be.
- I like to work with other people and to share ideas and knowledge, so to reach a more deep development of the projects, however I can also work alone.
- I have good knowledge of the Macintosh and Windows platforms, and of the main graphics applications like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I know HTML and CSS, and can write basic-level code in Processing, Mobile Processing and Arduino. I have some basic experience in using Flash and Premiere.
- Currently, my main interests are interaction design and infographics, so I’m looking forward to new opportunities to improve my knowledge of these topics.
- In 2007, during a 3-month internship, I worked with the Municipality of Treviso redesigning their website.
- In September 2009 I co-organized Teach Me 6 “Very Very Stupid”, Venice’s Festival of Visual Communication, and a few weeks later co-produced a showreel for Florence’s Festival of Creativity.
LANGUAGES
Mother tongue: Italian. I speak and write English well.
PORTFOLIO
Here are some links to some of my projects:
Madeleine
Imagine a world in which Napoleon did not lose at Waterloo; imagine that 1920s Venice, a French colony, is France’s gate to the East; imagine extraordinary technological developments…. Madeleine is a mobile application, accessed by G-Phone, that allows users to recall memories in an intimate way. By navigating Madeleine, users can immerse themselves in a surreal dreamlike atmosphere, drifting casually through their memories.
Tuuli
A system of little boxes that allows people to communicate by manipulating time and space. Set in different places, the boxes are connected to each other and send daily messages that users can hear or record whenever they like. The messages can be speech or sounds.
Ready? Set… Go!
An interactive system which allows tourist children to discover Venice through a fun and educational quiz game about the city. The service entertains children who are bored following their parents around Venice.
The game is structured by questions and activities about seven tourist attractions in Venice, where the child must capture magic objects. Alternative ways to capture objects are challenges and exchanges with other children in the same place, connected by Bluetooth.
