Available for full-time internships from mid-May 2012, estimated graduation April 2013.
EDUCATION
Graduate degree (ongoing) in Visual and Multimedial Communication specializing in Interaction Design at IUAV University of Venice. Currently I’m in the second (final) year and will start my thesis in September 2012.
Undergraduate degree in Exhibit and Interior Design at La Sapienza University of Rome.
High school at Liceo Scientifico O.M. Corbino, Siracusa, specializing in science.
EXPERIENCE
Work
2010 (internship, 8 months) – Graphic designer at AA Architetti Associati, Rome.
I was in charge of the visual identity of the studio and the presentation of projects; I designed the studio’s portfolio (digital and on paper) and identity for clients (logotypes and websites). I also managed relations with clients, talking with them about concepts and projects.
2009 (internship, 3 months) – Graphic designer at ICE Italian Trade Commission, Rome.
I worked in a team with architects and designers for the project of Italian pavilion for the International Book Fair in Guadalajara, Mexico. The design included the structure, displays and the whole identity (brand, posters and website). I also designed the studio’s portfolio and presented projects in formal contexts.
Workshops
February 2012 – Physical Computing with Giorgio Olivero.
A workshop about Arduino, electronic, and physical computing; I worked with circuits, electronic components and communication between Arduino and Processing. At the end I developed a minigame based on light sensors and physical switches.
January 2012 – Veasyt, Mobile Design.
Working in a small group of four, I developed a mobile app for Veasyt, a spin-off company. The app is a multimedia guide for villas and museums in Veneto, Italy, conceived as Design for All with a particular focus on accessibility.
October 2011 – Creative coding with Steffen Klaue.
Starting from the basics of JavaScript, I experienced the various possibilities of Processing. As the workshop’s final digital product I developed a minigame.
July 2011 – Information Design with Katerina Dolejsova.
In one month I conceived different solutions to visualize infographics for both paper supports and digital devices. I then designed VivereVenezia, an iPad app which provides interactive infographics about services in Venice.
STRENGTHS
I experienced all the steps in interaction design process and my strengths are in generating ideas, brainstorming and interfaces graphic development. Although in the project I have done I also felt comfortable in coding and programming.
I like to focus on emotional tones and develop projects as storytelling; I also like to work with users, conducting research and constructing personas, and to translate my ideas visually through illustrations during the development phases. I provide an effective support when I work in a team encouraging brainstorming and often my ideas about concepts or graphics were those taken up by my team.
